{"id":2833,"date":"2024-05-15T17:01:04","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T15:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brickparkour.com\/?p=2833"},"modified":"2024-08-08T16:35:12","modified_gmt":"2024-08-08T14:35:12","slug":"fise-montpellier-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brickparkour.com\/en\/fise-montpellier-results\/","title":{"rendered":"FISE Montpellier results"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Throwback on the 2024 Parkour World Cup in Montpellier (FRA), 10-12 May 2024, women\u2019s and men\u2019s Speed and Freestyle competitions, first stage of the FIG Parkour World Cup Series 2024 where Brick was back\u00a0as the official infrastructure supplier of the FIG Freestyle and Speed Parkour World Cup, organized in collaboration with the FIG and the FFG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parkour World Cup: Hometown hero takes Montpellier gold<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Third time was the charm for Nathanael Trier (FRA), who dominated the men\u2019s Freestyle competition in his third appearance at the Parkour World Cup in Montpellier (FRA) 10-12 May.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spin to win<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new code of points opened the door for even higher difficulty scores \u2013 an opportunity&nbsp;<strong>Nathanael Trier<\/strong>&nbsp;(FRA) did not waste. Posting a difficulty score 2.5 marks higher than the closest competitor and performing the first triple gainer-full in competition, Trier twisted his way to victory ahead of podium regulars&nbsp;<strong>Tangui Van Schingen<\/strong>&nbsp;(NED), who collected silver, and&nbsp;<strong>Elis Torhall<\/strong>&nbsp;(SWE) in bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking to social media after the event, Trier was rightly proud of his stunning win. \u201cI love this sport more than anything,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThank you Elis Torhall (SWE) for pushing it like you do, I\u2019m going to train hard to do the same. Congratulations for your crazy performance. Bravo Tangui Van Schingen \u2013 you\u2019re too strong in addition to being a speed machine. After this victory I just want to train harder.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/meips\/ADKq_NbMiBjImmfPsnhIIFzsGZOrWZBJLcIjYjLFPtIHGaq2mZCrEjYCtfw7c3Z_B9eO5dSbOseShX7LGIHuKGFHrZy_XyE7dyjlrDR7Vpapyw9XdBJlH7FNXLk=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/administration.gymnastics.sport\/news\/20240513142266254.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Men&#8217;s Freestyle podium<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">China takes women\u2019s Freestyle Gold<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While all eyes were on&nbsp;<strong>Ella Bucio<\/strong>&nbsp;(MEX) and&nbsp;<strong>Adela Merkova<\/strong>&nbsp;(CZE), Chinese competitors&nbsp;<strong>Li&nbsp;Meihui&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Shang<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Chunsong&nbsp;<\/strong>took the competition by storm in their first international competition. Shang, a Bronze medallist in artistic gymnastics at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), stunned the judges, posting a difficulty score of 1.0 whole marks above the highest-ranked men\u2019s competitor, collecting the first World Cup Gold for the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bucio fought bravely and delivered flawless execution but was edged out of the top spot by just one-tenth of a point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The battle for third pitted the superior difficulty of reigning World Cup series champion Merkova against the clean execution of Li. Coming down to the wire, Li took bronze by just 0.4 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/meips\/ADKq_Naj7xN6pu0_RyrqNrd8KoSiqKSWGqu_Jrxl5qCPihKg-70Ljsb9Q0FjuE6mZv98dR4Gt-Xrx35auYNT_GAI7jUrn5we7b0G_QezJ79LbbgC-9XiNI5J5-U=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/administration.gymnastics.sport\/news\/20240513142123248.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Women&#8217;s Freestyle podium<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tibbling continues winning streak<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Miranda Tibbling<\/strong>&nbsp;(SWE) fought off a spirited effort by all-rounder Bucio to retain her unbroken streak as World Cup champion in the Speed competition, which now extends to six FIG World Cup events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so happy right now!\u201d Tibbling said after the event. \u201cThank you to everyone who always supported me and believed in me! Congratulations to everyone else who competed. We all did so good!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bucio collected a second silver medal just six-tenths of a second behind Tibbling, while Spain\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Marta Gutierrez<\/strong>&nbsp;edged out&nbsp;<strong>Noa Man<\/strong>&nbsp;(NED) for the bronze medal by 0.24 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/meips\/ADKq_NYNwGD211uI2PE8u10JRq08CZI6VQTOOrilK7fs1OXO6ZFgR-NDk_TgzIllILCaStXIRzoO5PShe5zu3tIJ1Xm11H81mMf0nAGTVQittVwdewj3oZqx4cE=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/administration.gymnastics.sport\/news\/20240513125464337.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Women&#8217;s Speed podium<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breaking speed limits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The men\u2019s Speed event delivered one of the most exciting and hotly contested battles in FIG World Cup history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2022 Montpellier World Cup champion and overall 2023 World Cup Series winner<strong>Jaroslav Chum<\/strong>&nbsp;(CZE) delivered a breathtaking performance to retain his spot on top of the rankings. Defeating silver medallist&nbsp;<strong>Caryl Cordt-Moller<\/strong>&nbsp;(SUI) by just 0.07 of a second with a late surge on the return run across the course, the reigning champion threw his shirt into the River Lez and was celebrated by the packed crowds along the Montpellier embankments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surprise of the tournament was&nbsp;<strong>Liziano Ostiana<\/strong>&nbsp;(NED), who edged out fellow countryman Van Schingen to steal a bronze medal in his World Cup debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThird place at my first World Cup,\u201d said Ostiana. \u201cSuch an unreal feeling.
